5 of the best restaurants in West London

In this post we present a selection of some of the best places to eat in West London.West London is home to many of the city’s tourist attractions from Kensington Palace to the Natural History Museum. The area between Shepherd’s Bush and Marble Arch is filled with interesting history, modern shops, and a multitude of excellent restaurants.

At the Shepherd’s Bush end is Princess Victoria. Built in 1829 it has been beautifully restored with high ceilings and wonderful woods used throughout. Exceptional food and fine wines place the Princess Victoria a step above the average British pub. At Marble Arch, The Leinster Arms offers a more relaxed atmosphere with real ale and a mouth-watering variety of sausage pies.

It is impossible to tour London and not enjoy an afternoon tea. The Orangery is noted for its scones and many tea choices. Located near Kensington Palace, those gardens can be seen while taking tea.

For a taste of opera with your dinner, Bel Canto Restaurant provides singing waiters, who have sung in national opera houses, to serenade as they serve. Classic French food is offered here, from the appetisers to Crème Brulee for dessert. It is truly a full evening of entertainment, accompanied by fine wines, as your table, once booked, is yours for the night.

International restaurants are prominent in London, and Jakob’s represents the best of the Mediterranean cuisine with Armenian influences. Enjoyed by locals for over ten years, for the salads, hummus and stuffed cabbage leaves, this is an order at the counter, low-key, and comfortable eating place. Another popular spot is the Island restaurant which can be found on the ground floor of the Lancaster London hotel or Nipa their in-house Thai restaurant that has been approved by the Thai government!. Another very special restaurant in an unusual location is Cafe Anglais which is on the top floor of a shopping centre, but has a unique atmosphere and amazing food, french style cuising served in art deco ambiance. Okay in the end we recommended 7 restaurants, we got carried away with ourselves!
